As long as you cancel before your lesson begins, then you can reschedule your lesson online. Most piano teachers require 24 hours (and some don’t allow make-ups at all!), but I understand things happen! You kid comes home sick or you forgot it was Back-to-School Night or has an important soccer tournament. No problem. Just let me know before your lesson starts.

Firstly, piano lessons do not have to be “stuffy” in order for your child to learn successfully. Many of the traditional piano lesson stereotypes are born out of music conservatory culture, and there’s a reason for this — during the 20th century, the world saw a surge in piano virtuosos coming from Russia (Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, etc.). These pianists came from the Russian School of piano, which was famous at the time for sending kids and teenagers to conservatories where they practiced technical etudes and such for hours on end under strict teachers. inevitably, this generation of students grew into some of the world’s best pianists, and thus a stereotype was born.
The thing is, times have changed – and we’ve found that to make music “stick,” we need to make piano something that kids enjoy. So we incorporate fun activities, learning exercise, and classroom structure to help our students stay motivated, mentally engaged, and successful.
