Our Program - How Piano Lessons Online for Kids Works
Our kids piano lessons online classes work very similar to in-person classes. Students come to class each week and play their pieces. And their teacher either passes them to the next assignment or gives them advice on how to improve their performance. For example, if a student has forgotten to hold their half notes for two beats (this is very important), the instructor lets the student know in a positive way and then gives them tips on how to remember to play correctly. Tips and advice are always personalized to the student and their level.
Also, we offer kids online piano lessons during the week and weekend. We have a few early afternoon classes during the week for homeschool students, but most classes are in the evening. And our Sunday lessons are available in the morning and early afternoons.
Progress & Practice for Piano Lessons for Kids Online
The #1 focus for our online kids piano lessons is learning how to practice efficiently and having a positive attitude towards practice.
Our teachers don’t tell students to just “go practice”.
We tell each student why they need to practice something, for example: Measure 8 had the wrong rhythm.
We also tell each student how to practice, for example: practice measure 9 five times, making sure to play all of the E’s short because they are staccato.
As your child progresses, you will hear them start to say things like: “Oh… I need to practice that part.” OR “Can I go practice some more, please.”
Which, if you struggled through piano lessons and clashed with your parents over practice as a child, is wonderful to hear as a parent. Having your child have a positive attitude about practice and understanding that they need to put in the work in order to be successful is amazing.
And that is my goal with every student.
Oh, and FYI, our online piano lessons kids progress just as fast as in-person students. In fact, many students progress faster because it’s easier to schedule classes 2-3x’s a week.
